This all got started in 1999 when the Ford family brought two turkeys to the Morningstar Mission in Joliet for their Thanksgiving baskets. After that, their friends and family offered to help and the idea of the turkey drop was born. Since that time the number of donated turkeys has grown steadily throughout the years.
